The tram officially arrives at Findel

The tram arrived at Findel on 2 March. A major mobility event and the culmination of several years of intense work for our civil engineering teams, who worked on several of the project's work packages.

Right up until the final hours before the arrival of the tram, our employees were still on the ground to meet a major challenge: delivering the temporary P+R at the Héienhaff interchange. In just four months, a 500-space structure covering 17,000 m2 was built. This major challenge mobilised 50 people and around twenty machines, working tirelessly to ensure that everything was ready on time.

To prepare the site, 30,000 m3 of rubble and fill had to be moved before the necessary pipes and networks were installed. A bus stop was built on the route de Trèves, along with a PRM ramp linking the P+R to the tram stop. Finally, 4,500 tonnes of asphalt were laid by our partner Julien Cajot.

And there's more to come! Before the summer, our teams will also be putting the finishing touches to the 9,000 m2 bus station, adding another stone to this huge project.

Félix Giorgetti, a major player

The arrival of the tram has reshaped the landscape around the airport, with the creation of Boulevard Hohenhof.

As well as the P+R and the bus station, Félix Giorgetti also contributed to other aspects of this gigantic project:

  • The creation of part of the boulevard and a link road with the route de Trèves
    Creating a 375 m-long cut-and-cover tunnel
  • Shifting a 2,500-tonne frame under the Trèves road
  • The construction of a road leading directly from the A1 motorway to Trier, including a 135 m long retaining wall.

Once again, we would like to thank our teams and partners for their commitment and exemplary work, as well as the Ponts et Chaussées for their confidence.
