Visit of the Ban de Gasperich public park
On Tuesday May 10th, the Luxembourg City's council invited the press to visit the future Ban de Gasperich public parc
On Tuesday May 10th, the Luxembourg City's council, represented by Lydie Polfer, mayor, Serge Wilmes, first alderman, and Simone Beissel, alderman, invited the press to visit the Ban de Gasperich public park. The city representants presented the progress of the work done by Felix Giorgetti and its landscape concept. "There is still a lot of work to be done, but we can see what the park will look like," explained the mayor.
Opening in spring 2023
The project takes place in the Ban de Gasperich, a rapidly growing neighborhood that is experiencing considerable population growth and an increase in the working population on the site. The Ban de Gasperich public park aims to create a recreation and leisure area for its residents, students and workers.
"This 16.6 hectare park, which will be the largest in the capital, is a real added value for the city, for the Cloche d'Or district and its inhabitants. It's a beautiful urban planning project," added Serge Wilmes before walking along the paths that are still under construction and that visitors will be able to walk on in a year.
The civil engineering work entrusted by the City of Luxembourg to Félix Giorgetti began in summer 2020. They will be completed in a few weeks to make way for the development of the various leisure areas and facilities.
