4th édition of the GioRun

The GioRun is back! This sport and solidarity event organised by the Giofriends will take place on 16 June.

Beginners, amateurs and experienced runners, take note ! The 4th edition of the solidarity race organised by the GioFriends association will take place on June 16th in Leudelange.

As usual, participants will have the choice between a 5,5 km course - ideal for those who want to discover running at their own pace - and a 10 km course which promises a more intense experience and an opportunity to challenge themselves.

But that's not all! Because inclusion and solidarity are fundamental values, the Giofriends are also organising a solidarity walk of about 3 km. It will be free of charge and accessible to all, in particular to people with reduced mobility.

Behind the scenes of our logistics centre

As tradition dictates, the departure will be from an unusual location: our logistics centre in Leudelange.

A first loop will take walkers and runners behind the scenes of this area usually closed to the public, around our workshops, offices and equipment park, among our construction machines, trucks and cranes. The routes will then take them across the road into the forest and small paths where refreshments will also be available to refresh and replenish their strength for the rest of the race.

At the finish, prizes will be awarded to the first three in each category (women, men and companies). There will also be food and drink on site, as well as a tombola with numerous prizes donated by our partners. All this will be done to music and in a festive and friendly atmosphere!

Sport and solidarity

The Giorun is a sporting event, but also a charity event. By organising this event, the Giofriends also wish to support the actions of local associations.

All profits from the Giorun will be donated to the Parkinson's Centre "La Tulipe" in Leudelange and to the Alan association, which helps people with rare diseases in Luxembourg by offering them recreational and sports activities. The Giofriends also call on Dono for the recycling of our advertising tarpaulins, which employs people who are far from the world of work.

In 2022, 10,500 euros were donated to each of the associations thanks to Giorun and its many partners.
