5th edition of the GioRun
The GioRun is back! This sporting and solidarity event, organised by the Giofriends, will take place on 21 June.
Sports enthusiasts, beginners, amateurs and experienced runners, the GioRun is back. The 5th edition of the charity race organised by the GioFriends association will take place on 21 June in Leudelange.
As usual, participants will be able to choose between a 5.5km course - ideal for those wishing to discover running at their own pace - and a 10km course, which promises a more intense experience and an opportunity to challenge themselves.
Like last year, there will also be a free 2km solidarity walk, which will enable everyone, and in particular people with reduced mobility, to immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of the GioRun.
Unique setting
As the tradition goes, the start will be from an unique setting: our logistics centre in Leudelange.
The first loop will take walkers and runners behind the scenes of this area usually closed to the public, around our workshops, offices and equipment park, among our site machinery, lorries and cranes. The routes will then take them to the other side of the road, through the forest and narrow lanes.
At the finish line, prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category (women, men and companies). On-site catering will also be available, as will a tombola with lots of prizes donated by our partners. All this in a festive, friendly atmosphere and with great music!
Kids welcomed !
Good news for parents who would like to take part in the GioRun!
This year, thanks to our sponsor and professional crèche Villa Pipoo, we are offering a childcare service and entertainment for children aged 2 to 8. So you can enjoy the race to the full while your children have fun in complete safety!
Sport and solidarity
The Giorun is not only a sporting event, but also a charity one. By organising this event, the Giofriends also want to support the work of local associations.
All proceeds from the Giorun will go to the Parkinson Centre 'La Tulipe' in Leudelange and to the Alan association, which helps people with rare diseases in Luxembourg by offering recreational and sporting activities.
The Giofriends also call on Dono to recycle our advertising tarpaulins, which employs people who are far removed from the world of work.
In 2023, 11,000 euros were donated to each of these associations thanks to Giorun and its many partners.
The Giofriends look forward to seeing you there!
